Job Description
Manufacturing plant electricians provide basic electrical maintenance on existing equipment
in factories and industrial manufacturing facilities. 

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year of high school algebra with a grade of 'C' or better (or equivalent)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

*Local apprenticeship committee may require additional qualifications.

Working Conditions
The work is done primarily indoors, but often requires climbing, working on ladders, and operating mechanical lifts.

Minimum Rate of Pay
$22.90 per hour

Trade Skills Fundamentals 
Residential Wiring
Welding

Related Training
The apprenticeship agreement combines both the on-the-job experience and classroom related training instruction over a period of four years. A minimum of 144 hours of related training per year is recommended.

Lane's AAS degree in Electrical Apprenticeship Technologies can be earned once a student meets the requirements for both related training and general education.
