Technology Vision The Technology Planning Work Team was established in June 1995, by President Jerry Moskus, upon the recommendation of the Ron Bleed Report, IT Assessment, and the Technology Think Tank. The Work Team was to make recommendations regarding the use of technology at Lane Community college. In particular, the team was asked to make a formal proposal for a Technology Steering Committee or equivalent body which will carry the major responsibility for coordinating and leading the College's technology efforts in both instructional and administrative areas. The Technology Planning Work Team Report resulted from a series of discussions held by the Technology Planning Work Team during the Summer and Fall 1995. the Report recommended the formation of a Technology Advising and Consulting Team (TACT) for the purpose of creating a technology vision for the planning and use of technology at Lane in terms of the teaching/learning and work environments including strategic and annual planning and to recommend processes to encourage coordination among five functional areas: services to student success, curriculum development, professional development, information systems, and facilities planning. |
