GENERAL INFORMATION

The Student Life and Leadership Development Office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Office personnel provide guidance and leadership for students to supplement their educational experiences and encourage them to assume responsibility and self-direction for their own personal and educational growth.


Student Life and Leadership Development is also responsible for the graduation ceremonies for credit students and GED graduates. Lane credit and GED program graduation ceremonies will take place the Saturday following finals week. Next year it will take place on June 16, 2012 at the Lane County Fairgrounds in Downtown Eugene. We cannot answer questions regarding transcript evaluations. For information about your transcript or where you are in the degree process, call 541-463-3140.


Graduation Information letters will be sent home in mid-May to those who apply for their prior to April 30. Degree applications can be obtained through Enrollment Service. Contact the Student Life and Leadership Development office or visit the link below for more information on the graduation ceremony. Click on the graduation link below for more information.

Student Life Activities and Services

Nonacademic activities may be scheduled by contacting the Student Life and Leadership Development Office. Events may include formation of clubs and organizations, political activities, meetings, information tables, films, sales for nonprofit groups, markets and other activities.


The Clothing Stash

Student Life runs a small thrift shop with free clothing located in building 12 downstairs. We accept clothing donations for adult sizes. Children's clothing will be donated to other organization. Call 541-463-5336 for more information.

Free Tax Help
Free tax help will begin Tuesday, January 3-April 13 on on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the South end of the cafeteria. This service is first come first serve and sponsored by American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Please bring W2, 1099, financial aid documentation and all other pertinent income information. Housing Information for Lane Community College Students

General housing information binders are located in the Student Life office, building one, room 206. You can also refer to the web link for more information. We do no provide matching services but offer suggestions for where students can find affordable housing. ASLCC

ASLCC Student Government (Associated Students of Lane Community College) Offices are located in the Student Services Building #1. The ASLCC legislative body is the Senate, composed of four executive Officers, ten senators, and four student staff positions (appointed, non-voting positions). The purpose of ASLCC is to represent student interests and concerns and to promote student involvement in all phases of college life. Primary financing for ASLCC comes from mandatory student fees which are supervised by the director of Student Life and Leadership Development.

Contact the ASLCC president or the Student Life and Leadership Development Office if you would like to:

  • Serve on a college committee.
  • Form an organization.
  • Plan an activity.
  • Become involved in student government.
  • Make suggestions and express concerns.

Student Resource Center

The Student Resource Center (SRC) is a branch of the ASLCC. It is located on the second floor of the Center Building and is a student-operated service organization funded by the Associated Students of Lane Community College. SRC personnel help students to resolve nonacademic problems both on campus and in the community.

Direct services provided by the SRC include assistance and referrals in areas of childcare, housing, transportation, textbook sales, OSPIRG, voter registration, and other special student interests. Free coffee is offered every Wednesday.

Carpool and ride-share information as well as bus schedules are available in the SRC. A bulletin board at the SRC has maps of Eugene and outlying areas, and cards listing rides and riders wanted, indicating locations and schedules. People who would like to share rides can contact others who live in their area to discuss the details of pick-up times, shared gas expense and other suitable arrangements.

Legal advice is free to all students who pay mandatory student fees. A practicing attorney is available 20 hours per week and limited hours during summer term. Appointments may be made during Legal Service Office hours. The Legal Services Office is located in the ASLCC offices, Room 206 of Bldg. 1.

Clubs and Organizations

Clubs and organizations range from the Computer Club, the Student Organization of Multi-Ethnicity Club, the Queer-Straight Alliance and the Black Student Union to Phi Theta Kappa (honor society). Active clubs vary from year to year and represent many student interests on campus. Students are encouraged to organize new clubs and special groups compatible with the spirit of the college community. Students interested in contacting specific clubs can stop by Student Life and Leadership Development and leave a note in the club's mailbox. Groups or individuals interested in forming clubs and organizations should contact the director of Student Life and Leadership Development.
