Harvest Dinner fundraiser to feature Napa chef Cindy Pawlcyn

EUGENE - The Lane Community College Foundation Board of Directors and Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program once again present an exciting way to raise awareness and donations to benefit college students. The elegant second annual Harvest Dinner will be on Friday, October 29. This taste-tempting event will feature the extraordinary talents of Lane's culinary arts and hospitality students and faculty under the direction of guest chef Cindy Pawlcyn. Ms. Pawlcyn is the chef and owner of Napa's beloved Mustards Grill and Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen in St. Helena, California.

Shelley Kurtz and Dennis Nakata will emcee this distinctive dinner and auction including a celebration of Lane Community College's 40th Anniversary. Distinguished alumni will also be recognized for their unique, professional contributions to our community.

Guest chef Cindy Pawlcyn has lived and worked in the Napa Valley for more than 20 years. A pioneer in her field, Pawlcyn has been acknowledged by a local and national following, as well as by many top culinary organizations and magazines. Her "Mustards Grill Cookbook" recently won a James Beard Award and she is currently working on her third cookbook.

Unique auction items include:
* Newman's Fish Company wild salmon dinner for 25.
* Patti Cakes catered wedding reception or special occasion for 60.
* Helicopter ride and lunch at Vida with a fly-over of recipient's home.
* Outdoor barbeque package including patio furniture from Whittier Wood Products and a patio heater from NW Natural.

All proceeds will benefit the Lane students through scholarships and other programs. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. for the silent auction, wine and hors d'oeuvres at the Center for Meeting and Learning, LCC main campus, Building 19. The dinner and live auction follow.
