21st annual golf scramble set to benefit Lane students

EUGENE - Lane Community College students will reap the benefits from the Lane Community College Foundation's 21st annual golf scramble. Proceeds from the event, Friday, September 24, 2004 at Shadow Hills Country Club, will fund student scholarships and other programs. The tournament starts at 1 p.m., with registration at 11:30 a.m.

The tournament fee is $225 per player or $900 for a foursome. In exchange, participants receive one round of golf, use of a golf cart, a box lunch, refreshments, post-tournament awards reception participation and a chance at prizes.

People who enter by August 31 will also receive one ticket per person to the gourmet Harvest Dinner on October 29, a $75 value (see attached news release for details). Those who register for golf after August 31 will not receive this benefit. Registration closes when tournament fills (128 golfers).

Schedule: Friday, September 24
11:30 a.m. --Mandatory registration
1:00 p.m. --Shotgun tournament start

Format:
* Limited to first 32 teams of four players.
* Play will be four-ball scramble.
* Tournament rules to be distributed.

Prizes:
* Prize competitions on selected holes.
* Two hole-in-one prizes with new cars provided by Kendall Auto Group.
* Low gross, low net prizes for men, women and mixed teams.
* Random prizes at awards reception. Must be present to win.
