Written comment requested on LCC’s qualifications for accreditation
EUGENE - An evaluation team from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities will conduct an accreditation evaluation at Lane Community College on October 6, 7 and 8. The team will appraise the performance, integrity and quality of the college, as well as provide commendations for accomplishments and recommendations for improvement. Lane's self-study document will be provided to the team. The self-study is available on the web at http://2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/selfstudy/index.htm and updates will be posted as they are completed.
NWCCU is an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. It is the regional accrediting authority for higher education in a seven-state region including Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
Lane was last accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and Universities in 1994. The commission completed an interim visit at Lane in 1999.
The commission invites written and signed comments on the college's qualifications for accreditation. Comments should be submitted to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, 8060 165th Avenue NE Suite 100, Redmond, Washington 98052. Comments must be received by the commission no later than September 6, 2004.
