Wildflower event will honor former Lane instructors
EUGENE - An event, “Honoring the Founders: Celebrating 25 Years of Wildflower Displays,” will be held May 14, 15 and 16, at Lane Community College and Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. The event pays tribute to the arboretum’s first wildflower festival and to festival founders Freeman Rowe, Rhoda Love and David Wagner. Rowe and Love both taught at Lane and are now retired.
On Friday, May 14, a social hour and tour will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Lane Community College Herbarium, main campus, Building 16 (Science/Math) Room 117. Dinner will follow at 6 p.m. in the Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, Room 104. Rowe, Love and Wagner will be guests of honor.
On Sunday, May 16, a festival will be held at the arboretum, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., including displays and information. Organizers will gather the day before to set up for the event.
