LCC Foundation seeks nominees for Distinguished Alumni Awards
EUGENE - The Lane Community College Foundation is seeking nominees for four Distinguished Alumni Awards in celebration of the college’s upcoming 40th anniversary.
The awards will go to one alumnus from each of the past four decades who completed at least 30 credit hours at Lane or earned an associate's degree. Nominees should have demonstrated achievement in their chosen profession, service to the community, or outstanding contribution to the college. The awards will be presented at the Foundation’s annual Harvest Dinner on Friday, October 29.
Lane acknowledged outstanding alumni for its 25th anniversary including John Lively, Sue Prichard, David Spriggs, and Sid and Hank Voorhees.
Voters overwhelmingly approved the establishment of Lane Community College by a 5-to-1 margin in an election held October 19, 1964. Today, Lane is recognized as one of the top community colleges in the country by the League for Innovation in the Community College. Lane is one of only 20 board member colleges in the 700-member association, the only League college in Oregon, and one of only 12 Vanguard Learning Colleges designated by the League to recognize excellence.
