Culinary and hospitality students offer pasta feast

EUGENE - Culinary arts and hospitality students at Lane Community College will present a pasta feast on Monday, April 5, from 6-10 p.m. at the Center for Meeting and Learning (Building 19) on main campus in Eugene. The dinner is a fundraiser for students and the program.

The evening in Italy theme features a pasta buffet with three sauces including vegetarian marinara, meat, and spicy chicken. A tossed salad of seasonal greens and homemade garlic twists compliment the menu. For a wonderful finish, pastry chefs will prepare tiramisu.

Second-year culinary student Mateo Knight is the inspiration behind the dinner. "I feel privileged to be part of an event where we can raise money for the students and the program," he says.

The meat sauce will be made from sausage locally produced by student Cameron Garberoglio, a third-generation Italian chef. Chef-instructor Clive Wanstall says, "The sausage is made from an old family recipe with only the finest ingredients. Nothing artificial is added and the addition of red wine and parmesan cheese give it a distinctive flavor."

The dinner price is $7.50 for adults; $5 for children ages 6-10; free for children 5 and under. Choice of beverage is included.

For more information or to purchase tickets call Annie Caredio at 463-3503 or e-mail caredioa@lanecc.edu. Tickets must be purchased by April 2.
