SUMMARY OF OUTCOMES FROM THE 2002-2003 BUDGET PROCESS
updated 6/12/02

Budget

The Lane Community College 2002-2003 budget has a general fund of $69,597,518, about 7 percent less than the previous year. A $7.25 million shortfall forecast in February was addressed by reducing expenses and increasing tuition and fees.

Tuition

Tuition rates for 2002-2003 are effective summer term.

  • Credit tuition is $49 per credit hour. This is $11 more than last year including a $10 increase and a $1 replacement of many small class fees.
  • Nonresident and international student credit tuition is $168 per credit hour.
  • Noncredit tuition is $2.65 per contact hour ($80 per 30-hour class).
  • There is no discount for students 62 years and older as in previous years.
Technology Fee

A technology fee of $3 per credit hour is effective summer term. Half of this is an increase, but half replaces other fees, such the former $2 per term registration fee.
