All programs, functions and services need to be evaluated according
to common sets of criteria.

FACILITATOR: Nanci LaVelle

PURPOSE:
To apply criteria to programs, courses and services and advise the
Executive Team on budget reductions based on these criteria.
OUTCOMES:
A review of the templates developed in response to the budget principles
and criteria resulting in a set of recommendations for reductions.
SCOPE:
Recommendations to be submitted by February 11, 2002.
Final recommendations are the purview of the president.
Budget decisions are approved by the board of education.
PRINCIPLES:
Group members will choose the facilitator.
Group members will ask for clarification from budget administrators
of affected programs prior to making recommendations.
As much as possible, recommendations will be made by consensus.
When consensus is not possible, a recommendation should be accompanied
by a report stating all positions and their rationales.
Group members will keep the discussions of the group confidential.
Group members will not share information with people outside the group,
other than asking for information from department heads. When recommendations
have been finalized and published by the Executive Team, representatives
may discuss them with constituents, while holding the conversation that
led to the recommendations confidential.
